Extracurricular classes, the harsh classes begin.

"Extracurricular" is a Korean drama in the genre of high teen and crime released on Netflix in 2020. You can watch it while being quite immersed with realistic lines and absorbing storyline.

Beginning Story, Setting

Oh Ji-soo, a quiet model student at school, but a clever criminal outside of school. He continues his prostitution business secretly through a mobile phone messenger and an app.

Min-hee, his classmate, has a dangerous meeting without her boyfriend knowing through the app, and Gyu-ri, his classmate, starts to get interested in the dangerous business by observing Ji-soo.

Ji-soo naturally gets into the danger increasingly. Harsh extracurricular classes outside of school begin..!

Review

The teen's fresh emotions, the tension of the crime thriller go well together at a good balance. Each character was differentiated, and with vivid lines, the images of teenagers captured plainly.

In the fresh mood unique to the high-teen genre, it was naturally composed that the storyline of them rushing into crime and getting involved in crime.

The crime scale expands after the middle part, it is regrettable that the teenage story is diluted a little, but I was able to watch it while being fully immersed to the end.

Extra Story

It's a teen drama, but it's been given R-rated. Similar genres (High Teen, Crime) of American and British Netflix dramas include "One of us is Lying," "13 Reasons Why," and "The End Of The Fxxxing World."

Reportedly, the writer saw that a student stops a car and sell cigarettes in a park when she was a student. She revealed that it came up with a story of “Extracurricular” while recalling her of that time.

Kim Jin-min, the director, and Kim Yeo-jin, who plays 'Hae Kyung', the role of the police officer, are conjugal relations.

Director Kim Jin-min directed the Netflix drama "My Name", which was more successful than "Extracurricular" in 2021.
